Happy Birthday Cactus: Five Classic Mike Gordon Jams June 3, 2016 09:43

We make a point to recognize and celebrate the birthdays of our favorite musicians, as a way of thanking them for their endless contributions to our music scene.  We can't think of a better way to honor Mike Gordon on his 51st birthday than running through a handful of our favorite Cactus originals.  While longtime Phish lyricist Tom Marshall is responsible for the lyrics on a large percentage of the band's originals, Gordon is the mastermind behind classics such as “BBFCFM,” “Catapult,” "Clone,” “Contact,” “Destiny Unbound,” “Fuck Your Face,” “Mike’s Song,” "Mock Song.” “Mound,” “NO2,” “Poor Heart,” "Round Room,” “Scent of a Mule,” “Simple,” “Train Song,” “Weekly Time,” and “Weigh”.  We have included a few of our favorite versions of these tunes below.

Cheers to you Cactus...may you celebrate many, many more!
