The Revivalists have announced a major U.S. headlining tour this fall. This group of shows, dubbed The Deepest Dream tour, runs from November 15 to December 16, and is bookended with two-night stands in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 25 via the band's official website.

The band, which still has festival appearances at LOCKN', Austin City Limits, and David Shaw's Big River Getdown on the calendar, has been as hot as any in the jam scene in recent years. The success of their hit single "Wish I Knew You" is well documented, and this wave of tremendous success only seems to be gaining speed. See below for a complete list of dates, and make sure to stay tuned for future updates on the band.

  • As someone born and raised in Hamilton, the recent revitalization of the city has been something inspiring to witness. Getting the opportunity the last few summers to perform with my band The Revivalists at the Rivers Edge Amphitheater has always been a highlight of my year and a great opportunity to reconnect with family and old friends. The Big River Get Down will serve as a way to help increase the profile of Hamilton, while bringing something unique directly to the people of the city. Over the coming years we hope to sustain and grow this event along with the continuing renaissance of Hamilton to bolster the economy and provide yet another pillar of confidence and pride for the community.
  • This year, all proceeds will benefit Hamilton's 4th of July celebration. Half of the proceeds will be donated towards the fireworks and the other half will be donated to the 4th of July concert at RiversEdge.

Watch The Revivalists Perform "Wish I Knew You" On Conan December 20, 2016 14:17

The wildly successful year for The Revivalists continued on Monday night, as the New Orleans-born sensation performed its hit tune "Wish I Knew You" on Conan on TBS.  The primetime network television spots seem to be becoming a regular thing for this band, as they have recently made appearances on both The Today Show and The Ellen Degeneres Show.  This momentum doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon, as the band is slated to perform on the upcoming JamCruise and has already been selected for the 2017 LOCKN' Festival.  We had the pleasure of hosting The Revivalists at the 2015 Blueberry Jam in Fairhope, AL and couldn't be happier for the band's continued success.

Galactic Releases Details And Release Date For New Album May 7, 2015 08:16

One of New Orleans' finest, Galactic, will release their new album, Into The Deep, on Friday, July 17th.  Galactic's Robert Mercurio and Ben Ellman both produced and arranged the new album, due out on Provogue Records in just two months.  Into The Deep will be the band's 10th studio release, and the first since 2012's Carnivale Electricos.

A number of special guests, including Macy Gray, Mavis Staples, JJ Grey, Maggie Koerner, David Shaw (The Revivalists), Ryan Montbleau, Brushy One String, and Charm Taylor linked up with the band for the new album.  “We look for uniqueness and a quality that makes the people we collaborate with distinctively who they are,” Mercurio said of their collaborations on the album.

The band has developed a unique sound as a result of their influences, including: hip hop, electronic, world music, rock, blues and jazz. Many of their songs include performances by other artists of various styles of music, like hip-hop artists Boots Riley (of The Coup), Gift of Gab (of Blackalicious) and Chali 2na (of Jurassic 5).

Over the years, the band's sound has evolved from organic New Orleans funk to a more modern style, incorporating elements of hip hop, electronica, fusion, and jazz. This change has been largely characterized by the increased use of electronic effects on guitar, bass, saxophone, and drums. Drummer Stanton Moore uses phrase samplers to sample a rhythm which he can then play over, producing intricate and layered drum sounds. Ben Ellman, saxophonist and harmonica player, often distorts his instruments to the degree that they sound similar to an electric guitar.
