Check Your Ticketmaster Account, You Probably Have Free Tickets & Discounts June 18, 2016 12:22
Those who purchased tickets via Ticketmaster between October 21st, 1999 and February 23, 2013 more than likely have a free show or two sitting in their inbox. Just last month, Ticketmaster lost a $400 million class action lawsuit (Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster) when the judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff due to "excessive and deceptive" ticket fees. As of this morning, Ticketmaster is paying it out in the form of discount codes and free ticket vouchers.
The suit affects roughly 50 million people who purchased tickets via Ticketmaster from 1999-2013. Emails alerting members of the class started going out last month under the subject, “Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster Class Action Settlement – Notice Regarding Discount and Ticket Codes.” It's worth noting that many of these emails could be sitting in former AOL and expired college email accounts, as this case goes all the way back to 1999.
It’s easy to check. Simply log in to your Ticketmaster account and click “Active Vouchers” on the left hand side of the screen. The vouchers are only valid for a limited list of eligible events
