Acme Radio Will Broadcast Backup Planet's Nashville Show On Saturday October 26, 2016 11:31

-
Acme Radio is set to broadcast a live heading set from Backup Planet on Saturday, October 29th. Acme Feed & Seed is one of Music City’s most respected live venues and brands, so everyone knew big things were coming when they landed Backup Planet to anchor their annual Halloween blowout. Backup Planet is one of the fastest-rising, and respected bands on the scene today. Unlike many of the bands in Backup Planet’s genre, they do not stream or release recordings from every show. Backup Planet is known for their incredible live performances that leave crowds stunned, so when they broadcast a live show we know it is going to be something special. Backup Planet has recently spent several weeks at Syncromesh Studios in Birmingham, AL with producer Jason Elgin recording their anticipated sophomore album. Hopefully this means we can expect some special reveals of new material. Music fans won’t want to miss this show.

To see Backup Planet perform live is to simultaneously travel back in time and forward into the future. Their truly unique sound emanates from a place that seems familiar, yet unchartered. Elements of jazz, funk, roots, blues, electronic, and progressive rock all emerge during the course of their shows. Their sound draws from so much you’ve heard before—‘70s rock and funk, high-energy improv, a touch of pop, and a sliver of metal. But the members of Backup Planet mix and match those elements—with just a hint of modern tech to burnish a sturdy nucleus of retrominded organ and guitar—in ways that never fail to astonish.

“Aside from their extensive and wide-ranging sound, Backup Planet’s “Element” contains a few tracks that I wouldn’t be surprised to hear on the radio. Although the guitar is at times “in-your-face-metal”, the band’s vocal work remind me of many rock songs that have topped the Billboard Charts over the past few decades.” (Live For Live Music)
