Opposite Box, the genre-bending experimental rock band from Chattanooga, TN known for high energy live shows and a seamless blend of dirty funk and experimental rock, has released a brand new album titled OBscene.  This is the band's first official full length release, and is currently available for streaming through Spotify, Pandora and all major streaming sites.  It is available for download on iTunes, CD Baby and Bandcamp.

"Opposite Box, (who) has always been a controlled explosion on stage, still keeps that improvisational feel while adding funk and jazz to the mix." -- Dave Weinthal, Enigma magazine (OBscene review)

OBscene offers a total of six tracks and four brand new songs.  The first single, "If You Wanna," features Lili Hayes (daughter of soul legend Isaac Hayes), and shows the band in a new light - one of catchy, singalong hooks and a simpler verse/chorus format.
-
Other new tracks include the fan favorite "Birds on a Fence" (aka the "Sarah story) and is a much more familiar format for longtime fans - a psychedelic odyssey with enchanting moods and turn-on-a-dime transitions.  Also appearing, the songs Anteater Molly and NüJazz round out the new tracks on the album.  Previously released tracks "Afternoon Sex" and "Creatures" (both of which also feature Hayes) were remixed and modified specifically for the album. OBscene is the band's first album featuring Ryan Crabtree (Smooth Dialects, Charlie the Head) on bass.

BIOGRAPHY
OB has been making a splash since 2012 throughout the eastern US with a wild style coined Belligerent Jungle Funk. With the latest release, the band has evolved into the nom préféré "Progressive Soul," featuring the same high energy live performances, but with a much more mature and musical sound.

Opposite Box has completed several DIY national tours, and has been seen on various festival lineups, including The Big What? (2017 - Pittsboro, NC), Willyfest (2016 - College Corner, OH) and The Riverbend Festival (2016 - Chattanooga, TN).
