Earphunk Announces Break Up Following This Weekend's Bear Creek Bayou September 27, 2016 11:41

We have just heard some very disappointing news out of New Orleans, as prog-funk sensation Earphunk has announced that this weekend's performance at Bear Creek Bayou Festival will be the band's final show.  Live and Listen was officially launched in August of 2014, and Earphunk quickly became the first band we had ever booked.  It has been a true pleasure watching this band evolve and grow over the past seven years.  We have been fortunate enough to host Earphunk at our inaugural Funksgiving in November of 2014, as well as The Blueberry Jam Sessions in November of 2015.  Through these two events and countless shows in between, this band has helped us create some amazing memories over the years.  We want to wish Mark, Michael, Paul, Michael, Christian, Josh, and Alex nothing but the best in whatever the future may hold.  Thank you for the music and the memories that will last a lifetime.  The band's official statement can be read in full below.

Dear fans, friends, and family,

We are sorry to announce that our performance at this weekend's Bear Creek Bayou Music Festival on Friday will be our final show together. We feel it is right that it will be at home in New Orleans as a part of the first festival we ever played. We have traveled throughout the entire country, made life long friends and we feel fortunate to have accomplished things as a band we never would have imagined when we first began. Please keep an eye out for our own individual endeavors as we move forward! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the constant love and support over these past seven years.

Bear Creek Organizers Announce Bear Creek Bayou Festival in New Orleans April 12, 2016 11:07

It’s time to wake the bear! The producers of Bear Creek Music & Arts Festival have announced the inaugural Bear Creek Bayou Music Festival taking place September 30 – October 1, 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana!

The two-day event will be steeped in the tradition of New Orleans funk music, while providing an eclectic mix of artists, powerful big bands on par with past Bear Creek headliners, and genre-defining performers in world and roots music, live electronica, rock, and everything in between.

Bear Creek Bayou will take place in the heart of New Orleans’ Warehouse District at Mardi Gras World. Situated along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River with views of the New Orleans skyline, the new venue is the perfect home for Bear Creek’s intimate funk filled vibe.

Bear Creek Music & Arts Festival Has Been Cancelled June 24, 2015 10:32

We are saddened to report that organizers of Bear Creek Music & Arts Festival, held annually in October at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, have announced that the 2015 festival has been cancelled.  The festival dates were recently moved to the first weekend of October, as an attempt to provide for more tolerable weather for the camping/festival experience.  At this point, there has been no official word on whether the festival will continue in 2016 or not.  Read the official statement from Bear Creek organizers below.

Dear Bear Creek family,

It is with heavy hearts we must announce that Bear Creek Music & Art Festival 2015 has been canceled. Bear Creek was one of the top boutique festivals in the US, and a primary reason it has been so special is because of YOU, our dedicated fans. We spent eight amazing years together filled with beautiful music, dancing, laughter and celebration, and those memories will always live on. In hopes of producing the best possible event for everyone involved, we switched our dates and tried to diversify our lineup to keep things fresh. Unfortunately, things just were not working out in our favor this year and we were not willing to let the show go on unless everything was absolutely perfect. All ticket purchasers will be refunded from point of purchase.
