Friday night in Atlanta was one we had circled on our calendar for quite some time, as BIG Something was scheduled for the weekend spotlight at Aisle 5, one of our absolute favorite venues. This was the band's first Atlanta appearance since SweetWater 420 Festival back in April, and the ever growing hype surrounding this band was definitely felt early on. The show was sold out by the time the doors opened, and the stage was set for quite the party.

After a solid opening set from Riverside Joyride, a local Atlanta band featuring members of Voodoo Visionary, BIG Something was ready to roll with a fiery "Megalodon" opener. The set continued with so many uplifting sing-a-longs, such as "Love Generator," "Song For Us," "Amanda Lynn," "UFOs Are Real," and "Tumbleweed," with killer covers of Little Feat's "Skin It Back" and Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" mixed in. We also got a look at two of the band's newer tunes, "Wildfire" and "Plug." The set would ultimately close with "Pinky's Ride," a classic BIG Something original from their debut album, Songs From The Middle Of Nowhere. The encore featured a cover of Talking Heads' "Life During Wartime," and footage of this can be found below.

It's been nothing short of amazing watching this band grow and build such notable momentum over the last few years. It was only a year and a half ago that we were watching these guys open for two other bands at Terminal West, and they were clearly one of the hotter tickets in town on Friday. This is without a doubt one of the top bands to watch as we approach 2018. With a BIG late night set scheduled for night one of Widespread Panic's 'Panic En La Playa' in January, this train shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
